The Janets

The Janets were formed in September 1983 at Leicester University by Andy Stevens aka Dr Findlay and Howard Robinson aka Janet. The original band was a 3 piece called Dr Findlay & the Janets and featured Andy on lead guitar and vocal and Howard mainly playing bass guitar with some switching of instruments in-between songs. Mark Warden played the drums. Some might say the band peaked during their first live gig on 12th October at the Old Coffee Bar Club in the Percy Gee building! However the band managed to play two more gigs in 1983 and the fourth and final gig on 22nd February 1984 at College Hall Leicester. After that the band decided to take a short break which lasted until 2020 when during lockdown the dynamic duo started recording a few tunes and ended up doing quite a lot!  We can't be accused of not observing social distancing during these recordings with Andy based in Essex and Howard living somewhere in Mid-Wales!
